Castile soap is a soap made with vegetable oil. The original Castile soap was made with olive oil in the Castile region of Spain. Castile soap can also be made with the vegetable oil from coconut, hemp, avacado, almonds, and walnuts. Modern day Castile soaps are made with olive oil, and other vegetable oils are added in for enhanced cleaning properties.
Castile soap can be used as a body soap, a shampoo, and as a general cleaner.
